Four plus the guide.  We can take five but understand that it gets a little tight on the boat.

We prefer that angler be at least ten years old. Please bring a life jacket for any one under 13 years old.

Can I bring my own rod & reel?

Yes.  The guide will have spinning reels for everyone , but if you use spincast or baitcast reels bring them.  You will not need to bring tackle though, it will be provided.

Is there a check out time?

There is not a set time.  Usually guests arrive about 4:00pm and leave that same time unless the party needs to leave at a certain time for a plane etc. The guides will plan the day around your schedule.

Where do you fish?

We fish a large area.  Lake pelto, Terrebonne bay, Last island, Sister lake and lake Barre are just some of the spots. See the map on the fishing page for more details on the area.

What type of fish do you catch?

Speckled trout, redfish, sand trout, sheepshead, flounders and black drum are most common. Speckled trout and redfish are our specialty.

How do I get to Cocodrie Charters?

Jim will send anyone an information packet in the mail that has a detailed map and directions to the lodge.  DO NOT USE GPS TO GET HERE!! For some reason gps systems will route you 30-40 minutes out of the way down a narrow dangerous road.  Please follow the directions we give.

Sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, sports drinks or any special soft drinks you like (we provide water and normal coke products) snacks for on the boat or in your room, soft soled shoes, hat, light colored clothing and a decent sized ice chest to bring your catch home in.

How long is a fishing trip?

Usually 7-8 hours.  The guides usually leave at daylight and return at 1:00– 2:00 ish.

Do you offer half-day trips?

No we do not but Jim has designed custom trips for customers in the past.  Call and see what we can do for you.

Do you provide alcoholic beverages?
